Employment Opportunity in Danville, VA

The City of Danville is looking for a Director of Water and Gas. The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in both water and gas (but at least one of them). A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, in management or a related field, is required. A degree in engineering is a plus as is experience in Virginia and in a municipal government similar to Danville.

Scholarship Opportunities (Updated)

Job Opportunity

The Office of the State Inspector General (OSIG) is seeking a qualified individual to provide leadership and oversight of the Performance Review Services Division. The Director will be responsible for supervising three Audit Service Managers and indirectly 11 senior auditors/analysts. The Director is responsible for development, implementation and project oversight of a division workplan which includes performance reviews of Executive branch agencies. The position may also conduct audits, special investigations or special projects, generally of a greater degree of complexity or of a confidential nature.

February 2016 Chapter Meeting

The February Chapter Meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 5:30 pm at The Front Page in Arlington, VA. We know January getting snowed out was a disappointment, but we would love to see you in this month! Registration is open, so please register ASAP if you plan to attend.

To further entice you, we are raffling off 2 free registrations for our joint event with AGA DC, the 15th Annual AGA DC Federal Financial Management Training on March 29th – 30th. There will also be 2 drawings for a free 1-year AGA membership. Both drawings are open to government employees only and individuals must be present to win.

Mr. Damon Hunt, our January speaker, has kindly agreed to speak in February. Mr. Hunt is a Senior Manager at RMA Associates, LLC (RMA) and has a total of 20 years of experience in federal financial reporting, auditing, and consulting. Prior to RMA he supervised federal engagements at KPMG for 16 years. Mr. Hunt’s primary focus has been financial management, audit, and internal controls in the Federal Government workspace. The topic of his presentation will be “How to Find, Track, and Monitor Congressional Documents.”
